Our Investments
We have purchased land to support three projects designed and developed by one of our contractor members, OneEnergy Renewables. Lemonweir and Webster Creek were designed and developed in 2023, and Chippewa Sun was designed and developed in 2024.
In addition to purchasing these three properties, we invested $1.25 million in member loans to support construction in 2025 and 2026 of a suite of projects known as Stag Moose.
Altogether, our members have collectively raised more than $2 million to support our cooperative’s investments.

Energy Production: Approximately 2.9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually for Oakdale Electric Cooperative members. This amount of energy powers approximately 360 homes in nearby communities.
Features: Pollinator planting and host site for local beekeepers’ hives. The hives produce “solar honey,” showcasing the dual-use potential of solar farms.

Energy Production: Approximately 10 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually sold to three local customers: UW-Eau Claire, the City of Eau Claire, and Pablo Group. Among other uses, the energy generated at the solar array offsets 100% of the electricity used at UW-Eau Claire’s recreational/events facility, The Sonnentag.
Features: Pollinator planting, local ownership, and enhanced member participation. This is the largest of our three solar projects to-date.
